- LEXICAL items (vocabulary) in Hungarian are generated in the heat of the moment, so the Hungarian child acquires the rules of HU language processing whilst coining the required words, which is called by linguists the AGGLUTINATION PROCESS.
- The process, in this way, becomes a useful reusable algorhytm template for future generative attempts. It happens through acquisition of the STEM-WORDS (gyökszó) exposed to modifications by way of MORPHS/modifiers being GLUED to the stem words, resulting in new morphemes(words).
- Agglutination is not just simple juxtapositioning(concatenatenation) of free-status words as it is cherished so much in German. Yes the stem-word tends to be a free-status word with independent free-standing semantic values.
- The MORPH(word-modifier) by contrast has no free-standing status, yet carries an inherent semantic momentum and when it becomes attached to the stemword or to an already morphed word (morpheme), it exerts/offloads its semantic content onto the stemword and so gives birth to a new word/morpheme (often a new Part of Speech).
- These MORPH particles are called SZÓKÉPZŐK in Hungarian. Their only function is to generate new words (by allowing interchangeability/swatch among Parts of Speech: noun, pronoun, verb, adjective, adverb).
- Depending on which part of speech had been generated, the words/morphemes can receive additional endings (RAGOK); case endings, prefixes, infixes, suffixes, postpositions, verb conjugational endings.
- These always make themselves available according to the prescribed language specific agglutinational meaning( semantic ) construction paradigm.
- As a consequence, the recombinative capacity of HU to fuel the magnitude of the Hungarian lexicon is almost endless.
